How do you get a data entry job?

Not the kind you work from home though. I mean the kind you go to a place of employment. What kind of training/school do you need? I don’t really understand what the job is like and what you’re exactly doing, so can you please explain what you do at your job? Also is it a good job for quiet introverted people?

Getting a data entry job would be perfect for someone with your personality. These jobs are usually solitary, and depend on you being able to type in quickly, but accurately a whole bunch of information. At times it can be a bit tedious and redundant, but it is a really good job.

For data entry jobs you should take some courses in Microsoft Office such as power point, word, excel, outlook, and access. Now- a-days "data entry" pretty much has the same conotations as a clerk-typist in some ways, so that is why I am saying that you should be conversant with all of the MS office programs. You also will need to do some typing or transcription courses as well, as some of these jobs may require that. With the jobs today, there are a lot of jobs that can fit under data entry, such as billing, stats, admitting clerks, phone operators, dispatchers, and so on.

Practice the 10 key pad when you have time, and try looking through the phone book, and/or something like that, and try typing in the phone numbers etc., that you see to practice your key pad. Then for the alpha numeric, try practicing some of the typing.

I hope that this helps you.
